Generac Employee Purchase Experience
In my class on digital workplace I was given the opportunity to work with Generac redesigning their process for purchasing products as an employee. This project involved creating personas, journey mapping in Journey Track and Mural the creating low, medium, and high fidelity wireframes with a team. At the end of the term my team presented our designs to Generac.

Design process
Starting with the journey
The first deliverable in this project involved creating the user journey for the existing and new process. This also included creating personas which helped us to better understand our users and their emotions.
Research
To inform the user journey and designs we conducted research by interviewing current employees who had gone through the purchasing process before to better understand both places of frustration and success
Outcome

At the end of this project we had created a high fidelity prototype of the full new purchasing process which we presented to Generac along with our research, journey and personas.


Challenges
Although this project ran very smoothly, there were some challenges. One challenge was communication between team members who completed work last minute and those who preferred to complete work early. This could have been avoided by being upfront about expectations of timelines of work at the beginning of the project.
