Last year I worked as a wedding planner and day of coordinator which allowed me to combine my love for design and organization with my skills in communication and process design.

What I do

  1. Create wedding website

  2. Communicate with vendors

  3. Design invites and other materials

  4. Day of coordinator

  5. Flower arrangements 

  6. Seating chart

  8. Assemble wedding favors

  9. Event hair

  10. Communicate with family
     

One challenge I often encounter when working with weddings is communication with individuals in high stress situations. Keeping documentation easy for all parties to understand and track has been something I am experimenting with as well as methods of communication. Some client communicate better on a phone call or video meeting while others prefer email or comments on documents. Currently I use google sheets to help track progress and allow clients to see progress and help track what they need to do but I find this to be a challenge when they are often using their phone to view. ​I would like clients to communicate what they have completed, when, and any details so I am experiementing having them place the information in the spreadsheet themselves and I think it will take more experimenting to find a way to make this easier for them.
